I have been practicing yoga since November 2014. I started at Bikram Arnhem and continued at Affordable Yoga with Louise Cutler in Paris and RYoga in Rome. To deepen my practice and because I wanted to make yoga more accessible I have followed the hatha yoga teacher training at Samyak yoga (RYS-200) (* in Mysore (India) in November 2016. It is beautiful to see how people soften and relax during the practice. It makes me happy to be part of it.

How do I teach

I have a dynamic supportive style of teaching with a lot of assists and adjustments. Although my training was focused on hatha yoga, I’ll be able to make the style more gentle or more dynamic. I give a lot of attention to the breath, focus and grounding and never loose the goals of yoga, but in general my classes are rather down to earth instead of spiritual. Nevertheless, the focus at the end is on relaxation.

My experience

My yoga training has a strong focus on teaching, so it gave me a good basis. Since then, I have taught various private classes to friends and as resident teacher in a hostel in Nepal. I also shared the joy of yoga on a campsite in Italy with guests and colleagues. I take every chance to develop myself in the wonderful world of sharing the joy of yoga.

Good to know

I can teach in English and Dutch. I speak Italian and French at B2 / C1 level, so soon I will be able to teach in these languages as well. I have basic notions of German (B1) and Spanish (A1). I have the Dutch nationality and might need (assistance to get) a (work) permit/visa outside the European Union.
